Butterwick 5753, View D Complete

This pattern was too easy, I browsed the instructions, but never follow them to the letter.  I had to scale it down a little from the waist. I cut a large, but I could have gotten away with a medium.

I used store bought bias as a facing for the neckline, which is a still a little to wide for me, it doesn't hide my undergarment.  I will scale the neckline smaller next time and see how it comes out.  I am still fighting with sewing knits.

I am pleased, and I am wearing it today to work.

Happy Day!

  2. Great top and love the fabric! It doesn't look like you had a struggle but here's a little advice for the "Knit" fight. Make sure you are using a ball point needle and the correct size as well for your fabric. If you don't have a serger, before sewing, take 1" strips of "knit" interfacing and fuse them to the neck, hem and seamline (front or back)for stability (works great for ITY knits)and then use a narrow zigzag stitch for construction. Hope this helps.
