Fridays are casual days in our office. I work for a Law Firm and I am very cautious about how I dress down for casual Fridays. It was an office joke that I was dressed up not down for casual Fridays. To be honest working in corporate america for so many years without a casual day, I really didn't know how to dress down. I would wear a suit, dress or dress pants with a jacket Monday through Friday, pantyhose and heels included. So I decided to revamp my wardrobe a little and try and dress it down a little. I don't care to wear jeans because most of my jeans I don't feel are corporate appropriate, but I love denim. So I made these relaxed fit denim pants that feel like butter on.
The fabric is from Joann's and I didn't want anything stiff or uncomfortable, but something loose that could still be crisp for work. NewLook 6351 was a perfect pattern for what I was looking for.
Happy Sewing!
Love that look! I am not a denim person and when I seen denim that I like, it's usually something dressier than the standard heavy duty denim/jeans look. That fabric doesn't look like like denim (that's probably why I like it-lol). I'm going to check Joann's out for that.
ReplyDeleteGreat pants... I am in love with that pattern. I also work for a law firm and when jean/casual Friday became the norm, I was at a loss. I just kept it business casual. After several years, I now will do jeans 2 fridays out of the month.
ReplyDeleteThese are a nice fit! I know what you mean about not knowing how to dress down as I worked for a telephone company and dress as you did so it can be a little challenging. Girl, some would call it "Old School" as some know nothing about that kind of daily dressing with pantyhose.
ReplyDeleteLooking GOOD girl as usual!!! Have a BLESSED day love!
ReplyDeleteCute pants!
