Injured, but not on my Ski Trip!

I am back from my much needed annual ski trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  We go every year, and I look so forward to it every year.  Its normally 8-20 couples who share a cabin, plenty of drinks, food, laughs and fun.    This year was the largest group ever and we had a wonderful time.

Just a few pictures of our trip.  This is not the cabin we stayed in this year, its actually last years cabin, but for some reason I do not have a picture of this years cabin.

I made it off the trip with not one injury but I get home and fall down my stairs and now I have a swollen and bruised knee.

Learning about FBA

I was reading a few blogs, and since I am a big busted girl, I wanted to learn all about FBA Full Bust Alterations.  I read somewhere a long time ago that most commercial patterns are drafted for a B cup.  I am a "D" and I have sewn so many garments where I didn't get a good result in that area, so of course my interest was peaked.

This picture is from the web and is for illustration purposes only.

So, I slothed around blogland to get all the information I could and I was able to find some great articles that I will share:

1. sewmamasew.com (very good article on FBA with illustrations).
2. threedresses.wordpress.com (good information and places to find more information)
3. megannielsen.com (very good instructions and illustration).

There are so many more websites with information, just wanted to share a few that I was able to follow along with.  I have not had an opportunity to do a FBA as of yet, but I plan to practice really soon.

If you ladies out there have articles or information you would like to share I would appreciate all the help I could get.

Happy creating.

Working on My Work Wardrobe

I am a creature of habit, and I tend to pull out the same few outfits for work. We celebrate birthdays here in my office and I saw a picture of myself at to birthday celebrations within a weeks time and I had on the same outfit. All I could do was shake my head and laugh. But in the back of my mind I knew I had to get busy and get back to my sewing endeavors. That was all I need to get me back on point.

I have been building an inspiration board on what I want my work flow fashion to look like:

My goal is to make in addition to anything else, something that will go into my work flow wardrobe.  It's the 6th of the month and I have not accomplished a darn thing.  My ski vacation is next week, and I have not made the two sweat suits I was intending to make.  I have a Little Black Dress challenge that is due on Friday, and I have not, picked out let alone started on my pattern for the LBD Challenge.

It all started with that darnt blasted flu I am still trying to recovering from.  But I have not no more excuses, basketball season is over and I have a craft fair that I am doing March 9, 2013, so I must get busy.
