Bags from the past!!! Its that time of year again.

A few months to Xmas, and the orders are starting to come int.  Its Bag Bags Bags and more Bags.  I also need one for myself.  Here are a few bags I made in the past.

As I mentioned earlier, I am not big on dresses.  I love them, but after about 20lbs of weight gain, I decided that pants, especially black pants would become my new best friend.  My closet looks like a funeral thrift store.  I have every variation of black imaginable:  Polka Dots, Stripes, Art Deco, etc. 

I have decided to reintroduce color into my life, slowly but surely.  Here is a pattern I have my eye on.  I think I could pull this off with some cute sandals or a boots.

MISSY IS ON HER WAY! I GOT A SERGER!

Well atleast it is on its way. I just ordered it and its being delivered tomorrow. I have always wanted a serger, so I took the plunge. I just hope it is not as scary as it appears. I am planning to take my sewing to a whole new level and a serger I feel will put me over the top (so to say). Yeah I am so excited.  Can't you tell?

I had a great time in TX at my sons graduation from Air Force Basic Training.  Ready to start on my long list of sewing projects.  I first would like to introduce to you, Airman Aaron D. Wise:

A RANDOM RECIPE TO SHARE: MANGO, APPLE & CUCCUMBER SALSA

 

MANGO, APPLE & CUCCUMBER SALSA

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients

• 1 mango - peeled, seeded, and diced
• 1 red apple - peeled, cored, and diced
• 1 cucumber, peeled and diced
• 1 yellow bell pepper, diced
• 1/3 cup diced red onion
• 1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro
• 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced
• 1 tablespoon lime juice
• 1 tablespoon orange juice
• salt and ground black pepper to taste

Directions

Toss mango, apple, cucumber, yellow bell pepper, onion, cilantro, jalapeno pepper, lime juice, orange juice, salt, and black pepper together in a bowl.

I am 99% complete making my city shorts.  They are a 1/2 size too big, but..........wait for it, wait for it:  I inserted the zipper, waiste band and belt carrier, followed the pattern to the "T".  I had a momentary lapse with the zipper but I found this:

I want this pattern and I can't find it anywhere.  Boo Hoo.  It appears my Joann's atleast does not sell New Look Patterns.  Then who does?  Do I have to order it?  Yikes, I can't wait for it, I want it now.  Boo Hoo.

IT'S TUESDAY, MY MONDAY

This holiday weekend was very productive for me I got a lot done and I am still working on a few unfinished projects.  Got my eye on some new patterns too, and on a hunt for a Serger.  I've been reading up on Sergers and wondering how much I should spend.  Hopefully this time this week I will have one.  Fingers crossed.

So I finished Cynthia Rowley (Simplicity) 2406.  I will take better pictures tomorrow.  It really came out great.  I jumped right into it, and enjoyed every minute of making it. 

I'VE BEEN REALLY BUSY

Cute no pattern used top.  I love these easy breezy, just put on and go tops. 

Made this cute dress, Simplicity (Cynthia Rowley) 2406, using vintage sheets.   Its a little snug, but I love.
