I Want to Sew a Pair of Pants with a Zipper

I've been noticing all the beautiful shades of pants out this fashion cycle.  I wear pants but only really own two colors, black and brown.  The pants I have made recently are all elastic waist.  I have never mad a pair of pants with a zipper.  I am afraid, yes I said it I am afraid until I came across this video.  I am now empowered.

Lookie at what I have:

Losts of new fabric to play with.  I have a long weekend coming up and I means to make the mostof it and sew until I drop.  I can't wait to get some new patterns too.  I alloted myself a bout $50.00 to purchase patterns and SEW DO to transfer them.

So not much to post today, I'll be back!

NL 6937 Like but have to Re-do! Way to big!

I made this top View C.  Even though fall is fast approaching here in sunny Florida you can wear most of your summer gear year round.  So when I saw this pattern I said I could make a couple of cute tops for the fall and pair them with some jeans and turtle necks and make some really cute outfits.  Well I love the top itself, but boy is it huge.  The shoulders are way to wide.  I will make it again, but I will make it in a much smaller size.  I used the size 18, based on my measurements and the pattern.

Rocky Start

I am really getting off to rocky start with my blogging.  I have been so busy getting ready for my sons graduation from the Airforce which was scheduled for 8/30/2012 but we found out late yesterday that it is now 9/14/2012.  Yeah, all the hard work and preparation put into getting ready along with $$$$ down the drain.

Anywhoo, I have to take my other son BJ back to school this weekend.  He is so excited to get back and I too am excited for him. He loves dorm life. I will miss him though, but I will not miss having a $600.00 a month grocery bill.

Now back to the sewing.  Here is the project I am working on.  I am taking a sewing class just to hone in on my pattern reading and understanding skills.  We are making the jacket, and it is coming along nicely.

So I can't wait to show you guys how wonderful it turned out.  Have a great day!

My Floral Clutch

This is a project I've been scheming on for months.  Checking out websites and stores.  I knew what I wanted and freehand I just cut it out and sewed it up.  It is heavily pocketed on the inside with a zippered top.  Its a grap and go bag that goes so cute with my summer wardrope.  What do you think?

Floral Clutch

I had a really great weekend.  A very dear and longtime friend came by and brought with her a friend, who she wanted me to meet.  They both are looking for a seamstress (which I cannot at this time call myself).  The friend of my friend is a Pastor/Pastor's Wife and was looking for someone to make simple A line skirts and wide leg pants, projects I am familiar with sewing for myself but not for others, so of course I was apprehensive and honest with them about my abilities.  They both understood and agreed, and so we came to an understanding and agreement, I would use them as my ginny pigs so to speak and they would wear my garments and give me praise.  Yeah me.

I feel very honored and blessed, they fellowshipped with me and we had an awsome parting prayer which left me impowered and motivitated for the future.
